Quality Window is archived using the Move option in QWUtilities, which you can locate in the directory where the QW50 software is installed. Typically C:\Program Files (x86)\Busitech\QW50.
The Archiving process using Move can be performed as a single process or you can add it to a Scheduled process like once a month/quarter or year. You need to establish your requirement for the duration of current data you wish to have access to in QW50 application. Data is accessible in the archive file as well.
Regularly archiving data reduces the space requirements of the active QW5 applications which in turn can reduce time for performing regular backups and access time to QW5 applications.
To perform the Archive (Move) of data in a QW5 Application you should first create and save a View with a filter defined to select the data. This is required for the Move Utility to know what data to select to archive or keep. Here is an Example of setting a filter to the last 24 months.
Next step is to run QWUtilities and select MOVE
The Move function is used to move, or archive, data from one Quality Window application into another Quality Window application.
Select the QW5 Application and the VIEW you created with the Filter for the last 24 months
Read carefully and select the right option
